An Industrialised Building System (IBS) Academy will be set up by the Housing and Local Government Ministry to train Malaysians on the latest technology in building pre-fabricated houses.
Minister Zuraida Kamaruddin (pic) said that by using the IBS technology, housing units could be built faster at a lower cost in terms of reduced labour and lower price of materials.
“Using this technology, building homes would no longer be regarded as a 3D (dirty, difficult and dangerous) job,” she said after launching the National Affordable Home Policy (NAHP) at Elmina Central Park here.
Zuraida said the IBS Academy would be located at Awana Kijal, Terengganu.
