The Works Ministry has reiterated its commitment to making the Quality Assessment System in Construction (Qlassic) certification mandatory to all upcoming developments by 2020 as outlined in the National Housing Policy 2.0 (NHP2.0).
Established and managed by the Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) since 2007, Qlassic is a method to measure and evaluate workmanship quality of a building construction work based on Construction Industry Standard (CIS 7).
“In line with this, we are targeting to have at least 30 per cent of housing projects achieving at least 65 per cent of Qlassic scoring by 2020 fourth quarter,” said Works Minister Baru Bian at the Qlassic Day 2019: Construction Quality Excellence Awards here today.
