With Budget 2020 just around the corner, City & Country asks property experts and stakeholders about their hopes for the property sector. The property overhang and sluggish market remain the key concerns. Nearly all the respondents called for the abolition of the Real Property Gains Tax (RPGT) imposed on properties held for more than five years. Other common suggestions are the revision of the price threshold for foreign buyers, reduction of compliance cost borne by developers and better access to financing for homebuyers.
