All landed and multi-level properties at government housing schemes nationwide will be monitored and inspected every five years.
Housing and Local Government Minister Zuraida Kamaruddin said this was provided for under the new National Housing Policy 2018-2015, which was formulated to ensure the safety of residents.
“We have this new policy in place where every (public housing) property will be monitored once every five years,” she said.
“It does not mean that the properties will only be monitored after reaching 30 years and above,” she said, adding that focus would be on properties located on hillsides.
